The objective is to win all 52 cards or be the first player to win 3 wars. The deck is divided evenly, with each player receiving 26 cards, dealt one at a time, face down. Anyone may deal first. Each player places their stack of cards face down, in front of them. Simultaneously, each player reveals the top card of their deck - this is a ''Battle'' - and the player with the higher card takes both of the cards played and moves them to another stack (Win stack) face-up beside their deck. If the two cards played are of equal value, then there is a "war". Both players place the next 3 cards of their pile face down followed by another card face-up over the already played equal cards. The owner of the higher face-up card wins the war and adds all the cards (10 cards) to the win stack face up. If the face-up cards are again equal then the battle repeats with another set of 3 face-down and 1 set of face -up cards (18 cards). This repeats until one player's face-up card is higher than their opponent's. Player who wins all 52 cards or the first player to win 3 wars is declared as the winner.
